With his background in electrical engineering, Jack has always had a passion for two-way radio and how they operate. By managing his father, Frank Acconey’s, Homan Construction Company many years, and implementing one of the first two-way radio systems for private use, Jack brings a unique perspective from the eyes of a business owner.
From the early days of measuring and cutting mobile antennas, and installing some of the first customers alongside his father Jack, Chris began his 25 year journey in sales. With his background in truck and heavy equipment sales and finance, he brings a unique outlook on what the customer needs. With his customer service driven approach, product knowledge, and familiarity with our customer base, he is your greatest ally.

In the early 1980s, Jack Acconey managed his father Frank Acconey’s company, Homan Construction and Equipment Rental. Jack noticed that the team had no way to communicate as the company grew, especially with such a large fleet of equipment and so many employees to keep track of. After all, we were only using pagers and pay phones then; there were NO cell phones! Jack had purchased and installed two-way radios. They shared a channel with other contractors where you would have to wait for someone to finish talking so your company could use that channel to communicate, much like CB Radio.
One day over 30 years ago, he walked into Runnemede Communications, where he met the owner, his future Partner, and Homan’s Chief Engineer, Harry Holmes. Jack and Harry became fast friends! Whatever ideas Jack came up with, Harry was there to entertain them, and together they would bring them to fruition.
Over the many years of working together, they built one of the most efficient, private group talk, 2-way trunking radio systems, with one of the largest coverage areas that grew from 1 to 25 tower sites throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
This was all before any car phones were invented and long before cellular phones were even a thought!
Their latest venture came in early 2020 when Jack and Harry began exploring the opportunity of customizing their own Two-Way Radio. They decided to upgrade the entire customer base from the extensive 25-tower system to HOMTRAK™ , the nationwide service that they are proud to offer you today!
